Estimate: $1200 - 1800
A) Each barrel cluster flute is stamped with a British proof. The frame is silver with the remaining components iron. The hammer, trigger guard, frame (including the back strap) are floral scroll engraved. The grips are checkered.
BBL: 4 inch fluted
Stock:
Gauge: 36 percussion
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: nsn
Condition: Very good. The barrel cluster retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina. The silver is fine. The engraving is crisp. The slightly undersize grips are fine showing some minor blemishes in the checkering. Action needs work as the barrel cluster is not always in sync when action is cycled.
- B) The pistol has a ring trigger that releases an underhammer when pulled. The hammer runs the full length of the barrel with a pivot screw at the muzzle. After the action is cycled the user must swivel the hammer to the right in order to reset the trigger. Once the trigger is pushed up against the frame, the hammer is swiveled back in order to be reunited with the trigger and the pistol is ready to be fired again. The floral engraved frame is stamped "BREVETE/SGDE" on the left side, a proof on the right side and the number "90" on the top with the number "3" on the trigger. Smooth grip with an iron ramrod threaded in the butt.
BBL: 2 3/4 inch octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 48
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 90
Condition: Good. The pistol has a mottled gray patina showing some light flash type pitting. The grip is very good with a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
