Two Papago Handwoven Baskets. 1) Beehive style with lid, measures 6.5''H x 7''W. 2)bowl measures 7'' diameter. The Papago or Tohono O'odham Desert People reside in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and Mexico. Baskets were primarily utilitarian and used to carry water, firewood, prepare food and store items. Native Plants uses are Yucca, Beargrass,and Devils Claw. These Native American weavers rely on the natural colors of the desert plants.
