Two Meissen "Grunne Lowe" (Green Lion) Pattern Soup Plates, 18th Century, with 'old osier' moulded everted rim framing a 'famille-verte' derived pattern of a crouching winged beast beneath a flying crane, crossed swords in underglaze blue, pressnummer 21, 22.9cm *The pattern has been given various names including 'Flying Dog' (Berling); 'Kylin Tiger' and 'Korean Lion'. The colour palette follows the 'famille verte' style of early 18th century Chinese porcelain.
