A) Manufactured by the Mauser factory for the Nazi army in 1942. The top of the receiver ring is marked with an eagle/135 over "byf / 42", with an eagle firing proof and serial number on left side. Blade front sight without hood and tangent rear sight. An additional eagle firing proof on barrel. Buttplate marked "bpr / eagle/WaA407". Visible numbers match. Stock has number "043140813A" lightly pressed or stamped on the left side.

B) Manufactured by the Mauser factory in 1942 for the Nazi Army and converted to .22 caliber by installing an Erma conversion kit dated 1937. The top of the receiver ring is marked with an eagle/135 proof over "byf / 42", with an eagle firing proof and serial number on the left side. Barrel marked with an eagle firing proof and "41D2". Buttplate is marked "dpr / eagle/WaA407". Has a leather sling, with hooded blade front and tangent rear sights. Matching serial number on receiver, barrel band, and metal in front of magazine well.

A) Very good, with approximately 90% original blue finish remaining with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. Buttplate has some light pitting. The stock is excellent with some minor dings and scratches.

B) Refinished, with approximately 95% blue finish remaining with the balance a smooth brown patina. There is some finished over minor pitting. The varnished stock and handguard are fine with a minor crack on the left side of buttstock and some minor dings and scratches.
