Two Matching Early 19th Century Satinwood Dwarf Cabinets, with green and purple mottled marble slabs above a frieze with stringing, and a pair of doors below with silk pleated panels, the sides with similar grilled panels, on tapering square legs, (one marble top a.f.) 99 & 103.5 cm See illustration £4000 5000
Note: previously sold at Christies 19th/20th October 1987 sale, lot 131, Provenance: formerly at Kitley, Devon, owned in the early 19th century by Edmund Pollexfen Bastard. Kitley was remodeled circa 1820 - 25 by George Stanley Repton, it is possible that the cabinets were part of the furnishings installed in the early 1820's specifically made to sit beneath the hanging cabinets in The Boudoir, as illustrated in situ in an edition of Country Life (a photocopy of the page accompanies this lot)
