Two Porcelain Plates, The first an imari plate painted to the interior with a center reserve containing a Fu lion surrounded by peony flowers, the cavetto painted with three heart-shaped medallions each containing a phoenix, all surrounded by flowing banners in red, green and blue colors, the exterior painted flowering branches, a six-character Wanli reign mark to the base in underglaze cobalt blue; the second a kutani dish depicting the seven sages of the bamboo grove, all painted in red enamel and gilt, the exterior decorated with three scrolling ball design, the base bearing three small spur marks and a Kanji character mark within a double square.
