A) Designed in 1911. Blade front and short staff rear sights, with the mum stamped over with the 4 intertwined cannonballs of the Tokyo Arsenal, indicating rework for military schools. Equipped with a 13 1/2" triangular spike bayonet, with base numbered "532" and secured with two bolts. Smooth pistol grip stock with a grooved forearm, side mounted sling swivels and a flat butt with storage compartment.

Condition: Fine as arsenal refurbished, showing 95% blue, with some light handling marks and spotting. Stock is very good, with a coat of varnish added overall. Mechanically excellent.

B) Nagoya Arsenal Type 99 Last Ditch Rifle with Muzzle Cover
Late war production. Inverted "V" front and fixed peep rear sights, with unstruck mum, no model markings, plain cylindrical bolt handle, roughly machined bolt, and arsenal proof and serial number on the left side. Correct 2-piece smooth pistol grip stock with welded barrel bands and a flat wood buttplate. With a plastic muzzle cover.

Condition: Very fine. Most of the surface is showing 75% of a thin late war military blue with the balance a brown patina, with areas of rough texture and scattered handling marks. Stock is also very fine, with a loose forearm, mixed colors and pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
