This lot gives you the chance to bid on a collection of two J. Stevens single shot, break-action pistols, chambered in .22 caliber. Starting with the similarities, both pocket rifles have 2-piece walnut grips, spur triggers, mounted into a nickel finish frame, blued 6" partial octagon barrels, and sporting rear sights. With few differences, the Diamond Number 43 utilizes a globe front sight, while the pocket rifle shows a brass blade front sight, as well the roll stamps on the barrels vary in text, attributing each pistol to a different age - The No. 43 is marked "J Stevens A & T CO. Chicopee Falls, MASS. U.S.A.", dating the pistol between 1886 - 1915. The pocket rifle states " J Stevens & Co. Chicopee Falls, MASS. PAT SEP. 6. 1864" dating the pocket rifle to 1867 - 1886. The pistols are in poor-fair condition, showing minor pitting, and heavy patina, as well, each pistol is missing components, rendering them inoperable. The No. 43 is a Curio & Relic, while the Pocket rifle is an antique firearm. NICS background check, or FFL transfer is still required. Serial Numbers: No. 43 - 91568, Pocket Rifle - 699.
