Armstrong</B></I>", one page with address panel, 7.5" x 12", Carlisle, Pennsylvania, November 30, 1756, to Richard Peters, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It reads in small part, "<I>…I'm sensible the loss of the Soldiers near McDowels was Owing to ye. Defects of Potters Company, and Joseph Armstrong's being with 20 of his Men then at his own House, but not ye. Murders then done in ye. Neighborhood, for these might have happen'd had ye fort been ever so well Garrison'd…</B></I>". Small split in upper left corner, moderate aging, old archival repair to left margin, very good condition. Armstrong went on to become a major-general in the American Revolution and served in the Continental Congress.<BR>Joseph Shippen, one page with address panel, 7" x 12", Carlisle, Pennsylvania, July 13, 1758, to Richard Peters, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shippen complains of not receiving a commission as a Brevet Lt. Colonel. Light aging, very good condition. <I>From the collection of Henry E.
