Two Ernst Leitz Production Binoculars
1) Kriegsmarine Binoculars with Case. Matte black finish, with rubber protectors around the front lenses, independently adjustable focus, and "7x50/ beh/ 470403" on the left side. Also included with a black Kr leather case, stamped "1944" underneath the lid and "Kriegsmarine Eagle" over "M" mark on top of lid. 2) This pair has Nazi Naval Artillery Markings. Matte black finish, with rubber protectors around the front lenses, independently adjustable focus, right side reticle, leather hanging strap, "7x50/ beh/ 408436 (T)" marked on the left side and "eagle/ M Artil." on the right. "beh" was the Waffenamt code assigned to Ernst Leitz Optische Werke, best known as the makers of the Leica camera, and also acknowledged for smuggling 200-300 employees, mostly Jewish, out of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1943. Workers were sent out of the country on the pretense of being reassigned overseas, and Leitz would keep them on the payroll until they secured employment with another company.

Condition: 1) Very fine, with some areas of brown staining and wear on the exterior. Case is good, with the retention strap partially missing, scuffs and tears. Optics are clear. 2) Excellent, with some minor external wear and crisp clear optics. Strap is very good with some light scuffing.
