Manufactured in 1959, this is a truly excellent example of an early Second Generation Single Action Army. Barrel contains one line address, the left side marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45". The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the un-circled Rampant Colt. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt "VP" triangle proof, the rear is marked "P" and the right front is marked with a "5". The matching serial number is marked on the frame and under the grip on the left side of the front and back straps. The back strap is engraved "KEN SCHEIBEL". The revolver is fitted with smooth two-piece pearl grips with silver Colt medallions. Complete with the original black hinged lid box numbered to the gun, original waxed paper and papers. The accompanying Colt factory order, (#9555), for two Colt Single Action Army revolvers verifies the back strap engraving, caliber, barrel length, nickel finish and consecutively serial numbering of this lot.
