Lot of 2 different. 1) Iowa Mining Company. Scarce. Virginia Mining District, Storey County, Nevada (printed under title). Early incorporation Nov. 10th, 1862. No. 61, issued for 249 shares to RN VanBrunt in SF in 1875. Signed by president and secretary . Not cancelled. Black print on yellow paper. Vignette of dog next to safe (top center) and bald eagle with mining equipment (left border). Folds. 4 x 9.5" Bacon & Co. printers. The Iowa adjoined the Andes on the north and was directly west of the Mexican and Union Consolidated. William C. Ralston was an early promoter of the company. 2) Emigrant Prospecting Company. Issued in the 1880s to secretary SW Chubbock (ink very faded). Inc. 1881. Enterprise Job Print. Ex-Nevada Historical Society (stamp on reverse). According to a Gold Hill News Sep. 22, 1881 article, they were operating the Lower Comstock Mine at Silver City.
