Lot of 2 different. 1) Cerrat Mining Company. "Mines Located in Mohave Co. Arizona" printed at top center. No. 190, issued in 1879 for 200 shares. Not cancelled. Bald eagle vignette. Pinhole, deep folds with toning. This company owned the Vanderbilt mine near Cerbat, Mohave County. 2) Central Arizona Mining Company. Organized in New York. Issued in 1881, not cancelled. Native American vignette. Pinholes, deep folds with discoloration. Henry Wickenburg discovered the Vulture mine in 1863. The town of Vulture City was established near the mine and the Vulture City post office was established on October 4, 1880. Henry Wickenburg was the town's first postmaster. The Central Arizona company operated the Vulture mine from 1879 to 1888. Vulture City once had a population of 5,000 citizens. After producing more than 340,000 ounces of gold, the Vulture mine was closed in 1942 and the town was soon abandoned.
