Two Decorated Daggers with Sheaths

1) Frederico Pichinio-marked dagger, 18 inches overall with a 18th century 13 inch double edged blade, the lower half etched and gold washed, with four makers stamps and "FREDERICO PICHINIO" in the single fullers. The Picchinios were a family of arms makers based in Madrid, with Fredrico being active circa 1550-1580. Fitted with an elaborate brass hilt, with the cross guard rendered as a pair of serpents entwined around 5 turquoise stones, 3 additional stones on the pommel flanked by raised cockatrices, grotesque faces between the guards, raised scrollwork, and a rendering of a man with a matchlock on the right side. With a green cloth upholstered sheath, fitted with raised decorated brass fittings and a set of three stones on the back of the throat. 2) Gilt accented, file-tipped dagger, 17 3/4 inches overall, with a late 18th century 12 1/4 inch blade. The upper third is checkered on the sides, and the lower 2/3rds are engraved with flowers and hunting accoutrements on a niter blue field with gold highlights. Gilt brass hilt, with raised scroll and floral patterns. With a gilt brass fitted, brown leather sheath.
