A) Single bead sight on a barrel marked "THE W.H. DAVENPORT FIRE ARMS Co. NORWICH'CONN. U.S.A." Blue with casehardened frame. 2 3/4" chamber, choked gauges at cylinder with ejector. Checkered forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate. Patent dates (1891, 1892, 1900, 1902) are marked on the frame. William H. Davenport, founder of Davenport Firearms Co., held a great many patents on breechloading firearms and his company was devoted almost exclusively to single barrel shotguns.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel retains over 95% original blue finish with some minor muzzle wear. The frame retains 90% original case colors with some areas of smooth gray patina. Overall there is some scattered minor dings and scratches and light spotting. The wood is fine with some minor scratches and most of the varnish remaining and a few minor chips are missing from the buttplate. Overall the checkering is crisp.

B) Davenport Single Shot Rifle with Ammunition
Lyman blade front sight with ivory bead and buckhorn style rear sight on a barrel marked "THE W.H. DAVENPORT FIRE ARMS Co. NORWICH'CONN.U.S.A." and "PATENTED DEC. 15, 1891 22 RF". (Consignor states that the barrel has been bored and re-rifled to .25 Stevens). Adjustable tang peep sight. Blue barrel with nickel plated frame and buttplate. Nicely figured checkered walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock. Included is a green label box of UMC .25 Stevens cartridges (50/50).

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 70% original thinning blue finish with areas of smooth brown patina with some scattered minor pitting. The action and buttplate retain 98% of the frosted original nickel finish with some light flaking. The wood is very fine with some minor dings and scratches, and crisp checkering. The action is fine and the rear sight is loose.
