Two Colt Officer's Model Revolvers -A) Excellent Second Year Production Colt Officers Model .22 Doub
A) This is an excellent example of a very early production Officers Model .22 revolver manufactured in 1931, the second year of production. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent dates, the left side is marked "COLT OFFICERS / MODEL 22 LONG RIFLE" and the Rampant Colt appears on the left side of the frame. The butt has been marked "B.B. JAMES". Elevation adjustable front and windage adjustable rear sights, all blue finish with polished hammer sides and fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. The inside of each grip panel is numbered (stamped) to the gun.

Condition: Excellent as non factory inscribed on butt (see above). The revolver retains 99% original finish with slight wear on the muzzle and a very small amount of light spotting and a barely noticeable drag line on the cylinder, and some light spotting on the frame. The grips are excellent plus with only a few tiny dings on the bottoms and sharp checkering. Sharp markings. Excellent action.

B) Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel Double Action Revolver
Manufactured in 1953. Pinned blade front and notch rear sights, both adjustable. Left side of barrel marked "+OFFICERS MODEL 38+/ +HEAVY BARREL+", with two line patent and address markings on the top. Fluted cylinder, with an unshrouded ejector rod. The hammer, cylinder release, and backstrap are all checkered and the trigger is serrated. Checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in oval at the top.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 97% of the original blue finish with fading and slight scratches at the muzzle and some high edge wear. A couple of minor dings on the backstrap and some mild thinning on the underside of the barrel and trigger guard. The incorrect earlier production replacement grips are excellent with a couple of minor dings and bruises with sharp checkering.
