Two Colt Deringers A) Colt Number 2 Single Shot Derringer
Manufactured between 1870 and 1890. German silver half-moon front sight and hammer notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A./ No 2" flanked by Maltese crosses and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel. The frame has the standard light floral scroll engraving on the frame. Fitted with checkered walnut bird's head grips.

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina with some minor pitting. The grips are also good with most of the original varnish and scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. There is some minor play in the barrel, otherwise the action is fine.

B) Colt Number Three Thuer Single Shot Deringer
German silver half moon front sight on blued barrel marked "-COLT-" in italics on the top and "41 CAL" is marked on the left side of the frame. The serial number is stamped under the left grip and the grips are numbered to the gun. Blue barrel, nickel plated brass frame and fitted with smooth two piece varnished walnut grips.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 40% original thin blue finish mixed with gray patina and showing some very minor pitting. The frame retains 95% of the frosted original nickel finish with some edge and high point wear. There is an aged patina on the exposed brass. Much of the darkened original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are very good with most of the original varnish with flaking of the varnish and scattered minor dents. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
