Two Civil War Percussion Revolvers -A) Civil War Contract Starr Arms Model 1863 Single Action Army R
A) Manufactured between 1863 and 1865. Standard one line address on the left side of the frame with patent date on the right. Serial number matches on front of barrel block, cylinder and hammer cutout on frame. There are inspector initials stamped on the components. One piece walnut grip with a cartouche on each side.

B) Manufactured from 1860 to the mid-1860s. This government example has the standard three line address/patent marking on the top strap and inspector markings on the barrel, frame and side plate. There is a post front sight and a slot in a screw (under the nose of the hammer when it is down) that acts as the rear sight. Fitted with smooth grips.

A) Refinished, with some light spotting and some minor pitting concentrated on the cylinder and front frame section. Part of loading lever catch is absent. The grip is good with a few minor pressure dents and some minor dings, with a lightly visible cartouche on the right side. Mechanically good.

B) Fair. The revolver has a mixture of smooth gray and smooth dark patina with minor spotting and flash pitting. A percussion nipple is absent with the remaining nipples well worn. The repaired varnished grips are fair with a small cut-out on both panels, a missing chip on the left panel, chipped toes and some scattered minor dings. Mechanically good.
