Lot of Two (2) Chinese Type 24 Chiang Kai-Shek Mauser Bolt Action Rifles: 1.) #17191, 8mm Mauser, 23.5'' barrel; barrel with mismatched serial number, ''bys'', and Nazi proofmarks. Hardwood stock has been spliced 13.5'' down from the muzzle and is missing the upper handguard. Barrel with front sight base only and ''V''-notched tangent rear sight; missing rear band and spring; bayonet lug is present but needs permanent attachment. Receiver ring with ''41st Arsenal'' stamp. Numbers do not match. No visible import marks. Condition is fair. Metal is a combination blue finish and dark patina, with some scattered pitting and light surface rust. Receiver ring markings with added red paint. Wood with oil darkening, above-mentioned splice, and wood filler at the pistol grip. Action is good; bore with some areas of very light pitting, with plenty of rifling left. 2.) #08452, barrel is 23'' in length with Czech 7mm (7x57mm) import marks, with blue/matte finish, hardwood stock, inverted ''V'' front sight, and ''V''-notched tangent rear sight. Receiver ring with ''Chinese Markings''. Numbers do not match. Top of barrel is import marked. Condition is fair to good. Metal with a combination of different finishes, some parts are worn bright. Some of the added finish was applied over light pitting, most noticeable on the receiver. Upper handguard with oil darkening; stock has been sanded of its finish; right side with an infill at the bolt handle cut out. Good action; dark frosted bore with sharp rifling. Est.: $250-$400/lot.
