Two Cased and Engraved Second Generation Colt Percussion Revolvers with Factory Letters and Boxes -A) Factory Class "A" Engraved Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolver


A) This example has factory class "A" floral scroll engraving. There are flourishes of floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background on the rear portion of the barrel, the barrel lug, the loading lever, the trigger guard bow, the frame, the top of the back strap and the butt. Stamped "COLT ENG." on the side of the front strap. Fitted with a smooth walnut one piece grip. With the original box numbered to the gun, a Colt Custom Shop two gun walnut display case lined in wine colored velvet and a leatherette one gun case. The factory letter confirms the configuration and that it was shipped to Stacy Williams Co. on March 11th, 1987.

Near new with some scattered minor handling/storage marks including a faint drag line on the cylinder and some minor scratches on the ramrod. The box is good with edge wear, minor flaking, some tears and label taped on. Two gun case is excellent with scattered minor scratches. Leatherette case is good.

B) This example has factory class "B" floral scroll engraving which covers the rear portion of the barrel, barrel lug, sides of the loading lever, the frame, the trigger guard bow, the top and bottom of the back strap, and the butt. Stamped on the left side of the front strap "COLT ENG." Fitted with a smooth walnut one piece grip. With the original box numbered to the gun. The factory letter confirms the configuration and that it was shipped to Stacy Williams Co. on July 21st, 1987.

Excellent, 99% of the original blue finish remains with a few minor marks and a slight drag line on the cylinder. 98% of the original case colors remain with some scratches on the loading lever and some scattered minor freckling on the casehardened components. The brass remains bright with only a few light marks. The grip is excellent as well with only slight handling/storage marks. Box is very good with edge wear, tape and some minor flaking.
