Good condition
These two reliefs made of soapstone date to 19th century India. They each show a mirrored representation of elephants with riders in an openwork niche. One scene is framed left and right by a foliate panel. The partly openwork reliefs enthrall the viewer with their finely chiseled details.
The two reliefs are in good condition with partially minor chips, scratches and abrasions. One relief measures 10.8 x 26 x 2.8 cm, the other 10.8 x 38.4 x 2.8 cm (height x length x depth). (tfa)
