1) Pemberton Gold Mining Company #200 for 375 shares to Peter French in 1879. Signed by JR Crandall and Samuel Phillips. Located in the Forest Hill District, Placer County. Vignette at right of a hydraulic operation and tiny beehive vignette at bottom center. Yellow paper with black print.The Engineering and Mining Journal, Vol. XXVII, Jan.-June 1879, p.281 reports that the company is located on the Middle Fork of the American River, and owns, under a U.S. Patent 60 acres of pay gravel, averaging 225 feet.…."The work is so far advanced that the engineer expects to turn on the water within a few days." 2) Auburn and Rock Creek Gold Mining Company #77 for 250 shares to John Permingham. in 1880.
