A) Factory Engraved Forehand & Wadsworth Swamp Angel Revolver "SWAMP ANGEL" marked top strap and two line address/patent dates marking on left barrel flat. Sides of the frame feature a scroll and punch dot engraving with a border engraving on the back strap. Cylinder has a floral engraving on the chambers, front sides of frame and a checkered pattern and floral engraving, and the top, upper left, upper right, and right barrel flats have a geometric engraving. Varnished grips with the number "19" on the backs.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% bright original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor flaking and some minor spotting. The grips are fine with some high edge wear, some minor handling marks and some loss varnish. Mechanically excellent.

B) Manufactured from 1864 to 1872 with approximately 3,300 produced left side of frame is marked with the Marston address and patent marking over "IMPROVED 1864". Matching serial number on left side of frame under grip and on the smooth rosewood grip panels.

Condition: Fine. The barrels retain 30% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some very scattered minor pitting. The brass frame has a smooth aged patina. The left panel has been repaired, otherwise the grips are very good with much of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks. Mechanically functions, but needs minor work as the barrel selector is stiff and locks up occasionally.
