<td width="100%">
A superb duo of wall plaques - not really a pair, but by the same hand.
No maker?s marks except an inscribed stamped 69, followed by a hand written (in gold) 70. One of the two has the letter ?F? also inscribed, in a sans serif face. European origin.
Very fine work, with beautiful detailing . One pair of winged cherubs have a basket of grapes on their lap, and sit among grape vines , with other fruit at their feet, and decorated fabric drapes. This plaque is in excellent condition, no damage at all. The other has two cherubs, one presumably a girl, with a pair of doves on the lap. A little black and red robin sits beside them. They are seated amongst pine boughs, and have similar drapery to the first pair. This plaque has some minor damage to the plant material on the sides (leafs chipped, a branch broken) and there is also a chip to the trunk below their feet. The cherubs and drapery are perfect. Plaques are hung by a metal suspension loop on the reverse of each.
They measure approx. 17cm by 17cm (6.3/4 inches by 6.3/4 inches) each.
