Two Antique Colt Handguns A) Colt Third Model Derringer
Silver finished half moon sight, with "-COLT-" in italics on top of the barrel and "41 CAL" on the left side of the frame, with 2-toned finish, checkered hammer, smooth spur trigger and smooth birds head grips, numbered to match the frame. Colt listed these Third Model Derringers in their catalog from 1875 to 1912, with this example being late in production, S/N 40645 of the total 45000 produced.

Condition: Very fine, with 50% of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina overall, with light handling marks and original blue in the protected areas. 80% of the nickel is present on the frame, with high edge wear showing well aged brass, and a number of dings and scratches. Grips are very fine, with scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.

B) Colt Open Top Pocket Revolver
Made in 1874. German silver blade front sight and hammer notch rear sight, with the two line, cross flanked address on top of the barrel. Brass frame, with checkered hammer and trigger. Matching numbers on the barrel and frame. Smooth birds head grips.

Condition: Very fine, with 60% of the bright original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the cylinder and sides of the barrel, along with light handling marks. Frame is lightly cleaned, with some light scratches. Grips are also very fine, with exception of a few small chips at the butt and minor pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
