A) Standard three line barrel marking, with "C.P.8" on left trigger guard shoulder. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, and left grip panel. Fitted with smooth rosewood grips.

Condition: Very good. The barrel and loading lever retain 20% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame has a smooth brown-gray patina, with a darker patina on the cylinder. There is some very minor flash type pitting on the frame and cylinder. The trigger guard retains 20% original silver plating. The left grip panel has been repaired and is missing two small chips, otherwise the grips are good with some minor handling marks.

B) Around 700 produced. Top barrel flat marked "THE UNION / ARMS CO" with the number "2" and the serial number stamped on frame underside, "05 / 2" on loading lever, and assembly number "263" stamped on frame under left grip panel.

Condition: Good. The barrel retains 30% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The cylinder retains traces of faded original blue in the flutes with the balance a smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. There is some minor pitting. The grips are slightly wrapped at the bottoms, otherwise very fine with most of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
