1) Reproduction U.S. Ames Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber, with a 32" inch curved single fuller blade with flout spine, showing an Ames scroll on the left ricasso and "U.S./ J.T/ 1863" on the reverse. Brass guard, with helmet pommel and wire wrapped leather grip. With scabbard. 2) U.S. Ames Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber. 34 1/2" single fuller blade, with "U.S./ J.F" stamped on the right ricasso, and the Ames scroll on the reverse. Brass 2-branch guard with "JT" on the reverse of the knuckle bow, helmet pommel, and brass wire and leather grip. With a steel scabbard, stamped "J.C.W." on the drag.

Condition: 1) Very good, with some light wear on the blade and grip, a mixed aged patina on the brass, and spotting and dings on the sheath. 2) Fine, with a bright appearance to the blade, showing some mild pitting and handling marks. A dark, well aged patina is present on the brass, with light wear on the leather. The scabbard is very good, with a dark patina and dents.
