A) Produced in August of 1944. Blade front and adjustable peep rear sights with "BME" marked windage drum. Fitted with an import marked Springfield "12-64" dated barrel, Winchester bolt, trigger guard and hammer and Springfield housing and operating rod. Smooth pistol grip stock with a green canvas sling and checkered buttplate.

B) Scarce 1903 variation made by Sedgley Rifle Company for Bannerman in the 20s and 30s. These were produced by using surplus 1903 receivers, with new barrels, aluminum trigger guards, floor plate and barrel bands. These are described in the book "The 1903 Springfield" by Brophy. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with "C64157-4" on the sight cover, undated barrel, and standard model markings on the receiver ring. The chamber of the barrel is stamped with a circled "S". Smooth straight grip stock, with grooved forearm, sling swivels, leather sling and a smooth buttstock.

A) Very good as refinished, with 90% of the finish, showing a gray patina on the barrel, gas tube and frame, and a brown patina on the operating rod, along with scattered handling marks. Stock is good, with dents, scratches and a few chips. Mechanically very good.

B) Excellent, with 95% of the post-war blue finish as applied by the Sedgley Company, showing some minor areas of brown patina and scattered handling marks. Stock is excellent, with some chipping of the handguard, light scratches overall. Mechanically excellent.
