1) Has a 13 1/2 inch forged iron head and a 67 1/2 inch round wooden shaft. 2) Has a 12 3/4 inch forged two-piece head. The one-piece axe and spike are riveted perpendicular to the 1-piece socket and Fleur-de-Lis spear. The varnished round wooden shaft is 66 inches long. 3) This halberd was used to signify rank in battle. It has a 19 inch long iron head composed of two-pieces hammer welded together. There is zig-zag engraving on the spear blade along with 4 holes, 3 of which are filled with copper. The side opposite the "axe" has 4 quarter circle piercings to show a cross in the center. Mounted on a 62 1/2 inch long angular oak shaft with a round section at the top. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

1) Good, the head has a dark aged patina with some scattered moderate pitting. The tip is slightly deformed and the socket has been partially ground away. The replacement shaft is also good with scattered scratches and dings. 2) Fair, there is a dark aged patina with minor pitting overall and some cracking. The Fleur-de-Lis at the top was broken off and one was riveted in its place. There are numerous dents on the axe side and the spike is bent. The replacement shaft is good with scratches and dents overall. 3) Fair, there is a dark patina with some bright cleaned areas. There are numerous dings on the spear blade. The engraving is faint. The replacement shaft is good with some wear, dents and scratches.
