both on Jack Creek Land and Cattle Company letterhead, plus one cover. First is 5pp, 8" x 10.5", Saratoga, WY, 27 Apr. 1889; other is 2pp, 8.25" x 11", Saratoga, WY, 4 June 1893. Letterhead has image of steer and information about Jack Creek brands on both cattle and horses. Both letters are from Estella Johnston to "Stell" (or "Stelle") Baldwin of Des Moines, IA. The earlier letter has quite a bit about trips that Estella had taken. One trip to Crescent City, CA she says they went "mule riding" on the beach, and describes a hayride as well. She also notes that she took painting lessons while there, and later tells her friend about paintings she has completed since her return home. From the amount of travel (she mentions Salt Lake, San Francisco, Portland, Asteria) it would appear that the ranching business was good. They apparently survived the winter of 1886-87 in which many cattle ranches folded, and appear to still be a going concern today.
