Twin Buttes,AZ - Pima County - November 14, 1912 - Chesterfield Copper Company Stock Certificate Che
Incorporated in Arizona in 1907, with mine offices in Twin Buttes, Pima County. Cert. #4095 issued to Wm. Riddell for 300 shares. Signed by H. M. Brown as president and C.E. Horney as treasurer. Three vignettes across top, with center one being a scene of miners working a sluicing operation. The two side vignettes depict miners with nuggets. Black border, gilt seal and safety print. Uncancelled. Printer: Goes. The mines' lands consisted of 34 claims over 680 acres, including the Tiger and Crown King groups which were 5 miles from Twin Buttes. Even though the property showed some promise, certain advertising, apparently inspired by the management, indicated it was not highly regarded. The mine was shut down in August 1913, and reported as about to be sold to satisfy creditors. (Copper Handbook, Vol. XI, pp.230-1). Fold marks, pin marks in upper left corner. VF.
