American actor (1864–1943) best known for his array of characters on both stage and screen; in Clyde Fitch's 1909 drama The City, he was the first actor to say the curse 'Goddamn' on Broadway. Vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 soft-focus portrait of Marshall by the Freulich Studio, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Greetings to Miss Jean Mitchell, from, Tully Marshall, 1924.” In very good to fine condition, with two light bends, and light silvering to the darker areas of the image. Marshall is rare in any form, this being the first signed picture of him we have ever offered.
