This lot contains two Tule duck decoys one 8 in. the other 7 in. made in exacting detail with both Tule grass and cattails. The miniature Tule boat is 12 in. long. The Tule boat is a miniature of the boat used by Paiute tribes in Northern Nevada and by the Ancient Ones before them. The original use was to hold duck eggs, and captured birds during the hunt, but not for transportation. The boat is an extremely rare piece made by a local craftsman, Mike Williams of Schurz, Nevada.
