Jonathan Trumbull, Jr. signed military appointment. Datelined 22 May 1801, Hartford, CT, printed document signed large in sepia at bottom “Jon Trumbull” by Trumbull, Jr., the older brother of American Revolutionary painter John Trumbull. Trumbull, Jr. served as Connecticut Governor and as the first Comptroller of the U.S. Treasury. In 1795, Trumbull was elected Senator to CT. A 13.5” x 8.5” document, also signed by Samuel Wyllys, has toning, paper loss and chips; overall good condition.
