Triplett and Scott Repeating carbine, .50RF cal., 30” round barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, #564 in overall fair to good condition showing a dark patina with traces on blue on the barrel, some old mars to barrel and receiver; good action andmarkings, rough bore, wood forend shows what may be three old hash marks on left side at front and general wear but overall good; butt stock is fair only with an old repair to the wrist area and re-finish plus scattered old nicks and mars fromcarry and storage. Per Flayderman’s, only 5,000 of these guns were contracted on Jan. 2, 1865 with the state of Kentucky to arm 5,000 of their Home Guard troops to protect the supply lines of the Union Army under General Sherman but were received too late for service in the Civil War. The manufacturer was Meriden Manufacturing Co., soon to become co-founder of the Parker Shotgun Co. (Antique). Est.: $600-$1,200.
