Triggernometry Walter Brennan Signed Book
A double whammy collectable. First is the book itself. The legendary "Triggernometry: A Gallery of Gunfighters", written by western writer, historian and fast-draw expert Eugene Cunningham (Caxton Printers, Ltd, 1941). This now classic rare volume tells the true stories of such master gunfighters as Billy The Kid and John Wesley Hardin, and also unmasks the secrets of dozens of quick draw tricks used by both real gunslingers and their movie counterparts. The second "wham" of this great collectable is that it was in the library of legendary character actor Walter Brennan who broke Academy Award records for winning three consecutive Oscars. In 1941 Brennan worked with superstar Robert Taylor in the movie "Stand By For Action". During production, Brennan, who made more westerns than most any other actor in Hollywood, was showing Taylor the proper use of guns. To help him, he gave Taylor his prized edition of "Triggernometry", launching Taylor's life long love of the "quick draw", which was seen in many of his subsequent films. This is that book which is personally inscribed by Walter Brennan to Robert Taylor and dated August 2, 1942. Autographs of Brennan are hard to come by, and having his inscription to another legendary actor, especially in one of his own prized books is extremely rare. A great collectable on all fronts!
