This badge probably commemorates Transvaal and Orange Free
State, the defeated parties in the Boer War, becoming self-
governing colonies of the British Empire.
The pin has the crests of the two south african colonies with
their names on ribbons. These are united by a British lion and
union jacks.
<p>Made in Durban, South Africa, by Max Minck & Co.
<p>Measures 2 inches x 1 inch high.
<p>Very Good cosmetic condition. No damage to enamel. The
clasp is broken on the back as seen in photo.
