Townspeople pictured with 10 dogs and horses. Some of the men are holding their trapping trophies including fox and bobcat. Photograph (7" x 5") is mounted to gray matte. Matte has slight damage to the upper left corner. Platteville has long been known for its trappers. The town was initially founded as a fur trading outpost in the 1830s. This photograph indicates the strong connection to the fur trade if only by the amount of dogs pictured.
