Tower marked Enfield pattern .58 caliber 3 band rifled musket dated 1861 with brass mounts in good to very good original condition. The metal surfaces show a smooth brown patina with some traces of original finish mixed in. There is someminor pitting in the area of the breech. The stock is good to very good with a better than average grain and just some minor scratches, marks and minor imperfections with only a few slight losses along the ramrod channel. There is no evidence ofinspection marks anywhere on the stock. An original to the period bayonet and ramrod are included. The lock is well marked with Crown, date and Tower. The left side of the breech shows the number “24” and British proofs. Many of these were imported and used by both sides during the Civil War. Good action, good bore and good overall Est.: $700-$1400
