Wonderful letter containing lovely personal emotion as well as substantive military content. The soldier reassures his wife that their marriage can withstand the "trials and dis-/sapointments [sic] in this world", and that, were it not "for the temperary [sic] banishment from/ you I would be the happiest of husbands." He also tells his wife of the various close-calls that he and his regiment have encountered, acknowledging that, though he is confused, "Gen. Burnside probably knows what he is about." Letter is in good condition, exhibiting minor foxing, creases from mailing.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
