<B>Toronto, UC- The Exchange Bank of Toronto </B></I>$2, $5 May 1, 1855 Ch. # 255-10-04R, 255-10-06R<BR> This short lived venture started its existence as a private bank operated by R. H. Brett in late 1855. Shortly thereafter, he retitled his bank as The Exchange Bank of Toronto and advised that notes would be issued shortly. Sadly for Mr. Brett, his application was rejected by the government, and the notes, so far as anyone knows, never reached circulation. These two examples are remainders, with both grading <B>Uncirculated.</B></I><BR><I>From The Thomas M.
