<B>Toronto, ON- The Canadian Bank of Commerce</B></I> $5 Yukon Overprint Jan. 2, 1892 Ch. # 74-14-04c<BR> Notes from this bank bearing the Yukon overprint are among the greatest rarities in Canadian chartered bank currency, as well as carrying a romance that comes with being an integral part of Canadian history as well. The notes carrying the Yukon overprint were used as currency during the Gold Rush of 1898, when the Yukon served as the jumping off and supply point for the thousands of miners heading to the newly discovered gold fields of Alaska. Only a few examples survive, with only a handful not victimized by years of hard circulation. Fortunately for collectors, the Flynn collection contains the nicest Yukon overprint note we've seen in many years, grading <B>Fine,</B></I> with good color and body for the grade.
