Toronto, ON- Imperial Bank of Canada $5 Jan. 1, 1910 Ch. # 375-12-06
This institution rose from humble origins to become one of Canada's largest and most important banks, with a nationwide presence by the 1890's. While many of its later notes are easily obtainable, early examples from this bank are quite scarce. The 1902 through 1910 examples are known as the Waterlow printings, as they were printed by the firm of Waterlow & Sons of London, England. This piece features a portrait of King Edward VIII as a boy. Fine.
From The Thomas M.
