<B>TOPAZ<BR> </B></I> <I>Ghundao Hill, Katlang, Mardan District, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan.</B></I><BR>The present specimen consists of a single, loose topaz crystal of a peach-pink hue that would be called Padparadscha were it a sapphire. The crystal is consistent in both form and color with other material from this most renowned locality for colored topaz. The flat base is the characteristically perfect, basal plane cleavage seen in topaz. The faces are complete with glassy luster. There are a number of interesting inclusions that lend complexity to the overall effect. It measures 1 5/16 inches high by 1 inch wide by 5/8 of an inch, which is a respectable size for material from this locality.
