Tony Sarg, Tony Sarg's Treasure Book
Tony Sarg, Tony Sarg's Treasure Book: Rip Van Winkle, Alice in Wonderland and Treasure Island (New York: B. F. Jay Company, 1942), first edition, unpaginated, illustrated, movable cut-out illustrations in front and back covers, expandable cardboard case, 4to (11.5" x 9.5"). This is a charming "interactive" children's book adapted from classic works by Washington Irving, Lewis Carroll, and Robert Louis Stevenson. Tony Sarg (1880-1942) was a German-American puppeteer who became known as "America's Puppet Master." This book was published at the end of his life. A gift bookplate, including the names of the giver and recipient at Christmas 1943 is affixed inside the front cover. The interactive elements in the covers are still workable, but those in the interior pages no longer operate. The book is in very good condition with minor wear, smudges, and rust on the interior staples.

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
