Tony Lama Leather & Bull Hide Boots Made In Mexico
Featured in this lot is this pair of Tony Lama, leather & Bull Hide boots made in Mexico. These are vintage new old stock boots. Tony Lama Sr., a U.S. Cavalry cobbler, founded Tony Lama Boots in El Paso, Texas, in 1911. From a modest repair business, the company developed into a leading Western boot manufacturer renowned for its exotic and high-quality leathers. The company, which was eventually purchased by Justin Brands in 1990, gained international recognition for creating cowboy boots that were comfortable, long-lasting, and fashionable. The boots show a brown leather construction on the shaft with light brown western stitching while the vamp, instep and counter are covered in Bull Hide and show western design stitching on the vamp. The interior of the boots are marked reading, "Tony Lama Boots / Size 9 1/2 D / Style VM2955 / Registered 57276 C129". They still feature the original Tony Lama tags. They are also marked on the interior reading, "Imperfect", meaning they are factory seconds that failed to meet quality standards but are usually structurally sound. They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. They measure 11 5/8" L x 4" W x 14 3/4" H and have a collective weight of 3 pounds.
