Screen-worn costume worn by Pinza in the 1953 film Tonight We Sing during an opera singing number in which he plays Misphito the Devil. Costume consists of a large long-sleeve brown ruffled shirt with a gold ruffled collar and a Western Costume Co. tag sewn inside with Pinza’s name typed on the second line and “57-2113-1” typed on the first line, as well as a Western stamp to the lining. The matching shorts are included, with a Western Costume Co. stamp and label in the waistband, with Pinza’s name again typed on the second line and “57-2113-2” typed on the first line. In very good condition, with scattered wear and small separations to jacket’s lining, as well as some scattered fading to both pieces. The ruffled collar was added later and the material within the chest motif looks to have originally been of a shiny material.
