Contract, signed “Thomas J. Byrne,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.5 x 11, March 14, 1950. American League uniform player’s contract in which Tommy Byrne agrees to render “skilled services as a baseball player during the year 1950,” for the New York Yankees, for a salary of $18,000. Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Byrne and countersigned by Yankees General Manager George Weiss and by American League President William Harridge. In fine condition. Known as a hard and wild thrower, Byrne led the league in walks and hit batsmen in 1950; he nevertheless compiled a respectable 15-9 record and made the All-Star team.
