In part: “You wd do well, I think, to write to Romaine about the nom’n in futuro, of the protege you want to make an ass’t clerk in the Paymaster’s office & I will back any application.” Central vertical and horizontal folds, some brushing and spreading to ink, and mounting remnants to the upper right border of the last page, otherwise fine condition.
