"Bugs Bunny" is an original pencil layout on paper circa 1990's by the renowned animator and cartoon director, Tom Ray (1919-2010)! This piece is attached to a sheet which has been hand signed by his widow, Brenda Ray. Measures approximately 12.5" x 10.5" (no border).

About Tom Ray:
Born in Williams, Arizona, Thomas Archer Ray (August 2, 1919 – April 6, 2010) was an American animator who got his start at Warner Bros. Cartoons in 1937. Over the first two decades of his career, he was a junior animator who received no screen credit until “Destination Earth” in 1956. In 1958, he became a master animator in the Robert McKimson unit before transferring to the Chuck Jones unit, where he co-directed “Adventures of the Road-Runner” and several “Bugs Bunny Show” episodes. He followed Jones to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1963 where he directed two “Tom and Jerry” compilation shorts, “Matinee Mouse” in 1966 and “Shutter Bugged Cat” in 1967. Spanning over seven decades, Ray’s career is filled with notable credits including animation on “Pink Panther” shorts, Chuck Jones TV Specials, numerous Filmation and Hanna Barbera series, Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs. Ray continued working through the 1980’s and 1990’s, directing many episodes of various television series including “Transformers” and “Garfield and Friends.” He eventually retired from animation in Los Angeles in 1998, only to found his own animation studio, Tomstone Animation, on the East Coast. First located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Ray moved his studio to Virginia Beach, Virginia just before he died on April 6, 2010 at the age of 90. Ray's wife, Brenda Ellen Ray, continues to live in Virginia Beach, while his son, Thomas G. "Greg" Ray, and daughter, Donna Mouliot, followed him into the animation business.

A bid being placed on an auction item is an agreement to the auction terms and conditions as explained below. Pristine Auction is a JCK Enterprises L.L.C. company.
Bidder Registration: All bidder's must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the auction. Pristine auction reserves the right to suspend a registered user and/or cancel the bid of a registered user for any reason.
Bidding: Minimum bid increment is 5% of the current high bid. Bids are accepted 24 hours a day directly through our website (www.pristineauction.com). Our site will automatically generate and send an e-mail when a bidder is outbid on an auction. This is provided as a courtesy service to our bidders and is a non-guarantee service. Although rare, it is possible for our site to encounter interruptions in service or malfunctions. We reserve the right to suspend, cancel, or extend auctions that have been affected by such an occurrence. At the end of each auction, winning bidders will be notified as soon as possible via e-mail. Extended Bidding: Our auction timer corresponds with Eastern Standard Time. All auctions are set up with a 10 minute extended bidding period. The extended bidding period is initiated once an auction countdown is below 10 minutes. During the extended bidding period, all new bids reset the auction countdown to 10 minutes. An auction ends when no new bids are entered for a full 10 minutes. Each auction is on an independent timer so auctions will end at different times.
Returns: All items are shown and described to the best of our ability. Please ask any necessary questions before placing a bid. Items authenticated by an industry recognized third party authenticator may not be returned. Items accompanied by a Pristine Auction LOA can be returned for authenticity purposes if they have been reviewed and rejected by an acceptable authenticator. Acceptable authenticators are as follows: PSA/DNA, JSA, Global Authentics, or PAAS. All auction sales are final except in very limited circumstances (as described above or if a lot is grossly misrepresented). If winning bidder believes a lot was misrepresented he/she must contact us within 7 days of receipt of the lot with written explanation of the alleged gross error. If it is deemed that a gross error has occurred, it is the Buyer's responsibility to return the lot in question within seven (7) days of notice or evaluation.
Reserve: We reserve the right to place a reserve on auctions. Reserves are determined before the start of an auction. If bidding does not meet or exceed the predetermined reserve price, the lot will be returned to the consignor or relisted into a future auction.
Auction Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel an auction at any time for any reason.
Disputes: If any disputes arise, legal action will go before the AAA (American Arbitration Association) and will take place in Arizona. By bidding on the auction (and thus agreeing to our auction policies) the right to trial by jury in any and all legal disputes is forfeited.
